Plant Color and Patch Test Notice
Please read before using any plant color product.
Results vary
Plant color deposits pigment. It does not lighten hair and it does not remove existing color. Your result depends on your natural shade, how much gray you have, your hair's porosity, any previous chemical coloring, bleaching, keratin or perm treatments, and how long you leave the product on.
Shade names, photographs and any shade-finder tool on this site describe a direction, not a guaranteed outcome. We recommend a strand test on a hidden section before coloring all of your hair.
Patch test — every time
Do a patch test 48 hours before each application, including if you have used the product before. Sensitivity can develop at any time, and repeated use is exactly when it tends to appear.
Apply a small amount of the prepared mixture to the inner elbow or behind the ear, let it dry, leave it uncovered for 48 hours, and do not wash the area. If you notice redness, itching, burning, swelling or any discomfort, do not use the product.
Do not use if
- You have had any reaction to a hair color product in the past, whether plant-based or conventional.
- Your scalp is broken, irritated, sunburned or inflamed.
- You have had a reaction to a temporary “black henna” tattoo.
If a reaction occurs
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, stop using the product, and seek medical attention if symptoms are significant.
Then report it to us at info@fromearthtohair.com with the product name, the batch or lot number if available, and a description of what happened. Safety reports are handled separately from returns — see section 4 of our Refund and Return Policy.
